Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz both comprise the Rascalz tag-team in TNA Wrestling and are former tag-team champions. The duo has been locked in a bitter feud with WWE NXT star Wes Lee, who is a former member of the Rascalz, but betrayed his stablemates shortly after the TNA stars arrived in NXT to support him.
Since then, the Rascalz have gone on to challenge their idols, the Hardys in a losing effort, but have also made piece with Ace Austin, a former rival who’s sided with them to help take down Wes Lee. As TNA’s Unbreakable special over WrestleMania weekend gets closer, we sat down with Trey and Zach to discuss TNA, the Hardys and their careers so far.

The Rascalz are former TNA Tag-Team Champions.
As two guys who grew up watching the Hardys, what was it like to wrestle them for the TNA Tag-Team Championships?
Miguel:
“Man, there’s a moment, if you go back, I think it’s like, right when they make it into the ring, I turn away from the camera, I look at Zach, and I start screaming at him. I was like, you waited your whole life for this. Are you ready to do this? I am freaking out right now. I’m yelling at him in the ring and he was just very stoic.”
Wentz:
“You think of all those time you were on a trampoline as kids doing swantons out of a tree and stuff. And it’s just crazy that we finally got to have that moment, you know? We’re still young in our careers, there’s still so much more now that we have to do, especially being in the same company as the Hardys. There’s only one the Hardy, you can emulate the style as much as you want, but there’s only one. So you gotta figure out how to stand out and not be a copy of them while still paying tribute to them. If that makes any sort of sense.”

The Rascalz and Ace Austin weren’t always allies.
With Chris Bey out on injury, you both have been teaming with Ace Austin who you have some… history with. Especially you, Trey. Are you comfortable teaming up with an old rival?
Miguel:
“When Bey got injured last year, I think we all wanted to be the first one there for him, just to make sure that he was taken care of. Ace and Bay are best friends, Bey and I are best friends, Bey and Zach are best friends. It was really one of those things that truly brought us all together, professionally and personally. So whether Ace tried to get with my mom or not, its for the greater good of seeing our one of our best friends – and one of the best people in life – get better. You just gotta put some things aside, sometimes.”
Wentz:
“Well, so what a lot of people don’t know, is that Ace lived with us in Dayton, Ohio. So we’ve been around each other for year. We’ve trained with each other, we’ve been on the road with each other for years and years. If you look at our TNA tryout match, it was me, Trey and Ace Austin versus OVE (Ohio Versus Everything) so, you know, there’s a lot more history than just Ace and Trey’s mom! So, yeah, we gel right in with each other, and it’s because I feel that connection and our similar styles, that I think we’re pretty sweet as a trio.”

Now that TNA and WWE are working in partnership, does it feel like TNA’s Unbreakable show over WrestleMania weekend is an official kick-off to the action?
Miguel:
“In a sense, yeah. What you just said is something that I guess I never really thought about until you mentioned it now. It just puts it into perspective, like, how different this year has the potential to be. The potential to be big! That’s that’s really cool, I didn’t think of it like that.”
Wentz:
“It just feels bigger. Like, even the graphics! The graphics look sweet! Like everything just feels bigger. First, we’re going on TV with an episode of TNA Impact, and then going straight into the live pay-per-view or special, whatever you want to call it, that’s sick. And especially to be doing it in THAT weekend. It’s the biggest wrestling weekend of the year, to be able to kind of kick start it awesome. I feel like we’re going to have way more eyeballs now because of being a part of that weekend.”

Zach Wentz would defeat Wes Lee on NXT.
TNA’s growth has been undeniable throughout 2024 and 2025. How satisfying is that for you with you both being stalwarts of the company?
Miguel:
“It feels great because we were also once part of a company that, at one point, was not doing that. We would talk about the things we’re putting our body through, the way our minds are responding to that, and how we just didn’t feel like we were seeing the fruits of our labour, and then pandemic happened, and that sort of humbled everyone.”
“So, to see us pick it up from nothing, to be a part of TNA then, and to still be part of TNA now, and to be considered one of those pillars that uplifted the company, and to be part of it while it’s doing this new WWE NXT thing – that’s one of the most proud things I think I’ll ever hold close to my heart. In my life and career, was being a part of that team that saw this come back to life. We did that.”
“I remember during the TNA rebrand, looking out onto like, the new colours, the fans, just how new it all looked. And I remember just telling, Zach like, dude, this feels like something I’ve never felt before. I want to freeze time and sit right here, I don’t want to come out of this. That was the moment that I think when I knew that things were about to start changing.”
Wentz
“Well, you know how they say, like, WrestleMania season is the biggest time in wrestling? All the stories pay off and all that. Well, look at TNA during Mania season right now, we’re hitting on all cylinders, dude, and I’m really excited for the things that are to come.”
TNA Unbreakable will take place on April 17, 2025, at the Cox Pavilion in Paradise, Nevada, and will air on TNA+ over WrestleMania weekend.
