CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre Hell in a Cell at WWE Bad Blood 2024

WWE Bad Blood 2024 is set to take place in October following the Bash in Berlin event on Saturday, August 31st, but what could the matches be on the returning Premium Live Event? Here I’m going to take a look at what matches I think will be on the card when the company heads to State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia for the first Bad Blood card in 20 years.

WWE Bad Blood 2024 Match Predictions

Rhea Ripley vs Liv Morgan – Hell in a Cell

Considering the feud that these two have had ongoing for the past few months there is no doubt in my mind that they’re going to be heading to the Hell in a Cell when we finally get to October.

Dominik Mysterio will need to be neutralised in some way to stop him getting involved in this match, and having the HIAC gimmick would be one of the most logical ways to do it. This should be the feud ender, and both women can pull off a main event-calibre match when called upon, so I can easily see this ending the night.

CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre – Hell in a Cell

Normally I would not want to see two HIAC matches on a PPV, because it was complete overkill when the company did it a decade or so ago almost yearly. However, with two feuds that would warrant the stipulation, I would not have an issue at all with one opening the show and the other being the main event.

If the Women’s World Championship match is going to main event, then I think that this should be opening the night. Whether or not this will be the end of the feud remains to be seen, but giving McIntyre a huge win against a star the level of Punk in the Cell would elevate him towards a match with Gunther for the World Title at Survivor Series or at the Royal Rumble early next year.

Damian Priest vs Finn Balór

With Liv and Rhea occupied it leaves the new leader of the Judgment Day Finn Balor in a position to continue his feud with Damian Priest. Whether or not this will have a stipulation is up for debate, but I think like the Cell match I proposed this would make sense with some sort of ‘Judgment Day are banned from ringside’ gimmick so that Balor winning could legitimise him even further in his new role.

Cody Rhodes vs Kevin Owens – WWE Championship

WWE have been teasing a heel turn for Kevin Owens over the past few weeks ahead of his match against Cody at Bash In Berlin, and I’m expecting to see them pull the trigger on it ahead of Bad Blood to set up a rematch.

This’ll be a different Owens going up against Rhodes in what I think will be a straight up one-on-one match, with Cody getting the win as he’s still got a long road ahead of him as the top star on RAW.

Gunther vs Ilja Dragunov – World Heavyweight Championship

This is a match that they should’ve done at Bash in Berlin considering both star’s affiliation with Germany and the wXw promotion, but they didn’t, so I’m hoping that they will make it happen at Bad Blood.

Ilja would lose absolutely nothing if he didn’t win this match and Gunther needs to be given Superstars that he can beat, so why not do it here at WWE Bad Blood 2024?

Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn vs Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill – WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship

WWE are already doing this match at Bash in Berlin, but I can see them deciding to run it back at Bad Blood and making that the time for either Bianca or Jade to turn heel on the other and start a programme towards Survivor Series.

Belair and Cargill have worked well as a team up to this point but it’s time to pull the trigger on moving them back into being singles stars. With Belair more than capable of being in a major title match at the Rumble or WrestleMania in 2025, it makes sense for her to get out of this tag team now, and Cargill has the chance to win the Rumble in early 2025 and challenge Belair at ‘Mania if the company wants to go down that route.
