As August rolls into September we have another stacked weekend of wrestling goodness to look forward to, chief among them being WWE Payback premium live event which will emanate from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Saturday 2nd September, 2023.
This marks the first WWE Payback branded event since 2020 and the first WWE PLE to be held in Pittsburgh since 2018.
WWE Payback confirmed match card so far includes:
- Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus in a Steel Cage Match
- Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs Shinsuke Nakamura for the World Heavyweight Championship
- Rhea Ripley vs Raquel Rodriguez for the Women’s World Championship
- Rey Mysterio vs Austin Theory for the WWE United States Championship
- LA Knight vs The Miz
- Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs The Judgment Day in a Steel City Street Fight for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship
It’s possible that more matches will be added to the card, with Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER conspicuous by his absence. We don’t expect to Roman Reigns defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Payback, however there will likely be some Bloodline themed shenanigans.
Tune into SmackDown on the 1st September to learn more. We’ll be sure to update this card rundown if and when more matches are added.
